In 2019, The Santa Barbara County Fair celebrates 128 years!

Each year, thousands of visitors attend the Santa Barbara County Fair. The Fair showcases the community's interests and talents, offering a unique assortment of activities to do and see. From jams and jellies, to pies, photography, homemade quilts and floriculture, the Santa Barbara County Fair provides visitors with an interesting mix of both community oriented and educational fun. The Fair also feature award winning wines, fine art, and plenty of entertainment, including a destruction derby. This agriculturally oriented county fair features the State's largest junior livestock auction, along with plenty of other plant and animal based agricultural exhibits.
The Fair offers a variety of FREE (with paid admission) interactive, kid friendly shows and educational exhibits. Free attractions also includes both local and “big-name” musical artists each year, such as Maddie & Tae and Clay Walker, all FREE with your paid admission into the Fair.
There are plenty of carnival rides, animals, petting zoos, pony rides and of course, lots of fantastic fair food in a wholesome, old-fashioned atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy!

What began as a senior project in 1985, primarily as a beef show, has evolved into a five-ring show that is “The Best in the West”. In addition to being a completely student run show, Cal Poly’s Western Bonanza is one of the most competitive jackpot shows in the Western United States.
We appreciate the continued support of our donors that are truly the reason Western Bonanza is called “The Best in the West”.

The Best in the West Livestock Auction
Western Bonanza is proud to announce the second annual Best in the West Livestock Auction featuring pigs, sheep, and goats from around California.

The auction will take place on Friday, February 15th with the preview starting at 5:30 PM and the sale beginning at 7:00 PM. Those who wish to purchase an animal must be pre-registered as a buyer.

Exhibitors who purchase an animal will be given free entry into Western Bonanza Show A and a reduced entry fee into Show B. The Western Bonanza Futurity Show, for animals purchased in the 2019 Western Bonanza Sale take place following showmanship on Saturday, February 16 for Show A.
