HOW TO HELP ITCHY SKIN OR FLEA PROBLEMS
There are many wonderful flea and tick shampoos on the market. But sometimes it’s nice to change up the shampoo routine. Because goats, sheep, swine and dogs can all fall victim to itchy skin due to fleas, dry skin and other issues, you will need to take steps to remedy the itch!
There are many natural benefits to Eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus oil is a natural deterrent to fleas and soothing to skin irritations. Eucalyptus can be added to shampoo. To make a bottle of Eucalyptus Shampoo, you’ll need:
1 Bottle of No-Tear baby shampoo or Livestock Shampoo.
2 tsp Eucalyptus Essential oil
1 Bottle of Conditioner
Mix – Shampoo with 2 tsp of Eucalyptus oil and shake well. Even though we are using No Tear shampoo, it is important to keep the shampoo out of the eyes; Eucalyptus should not be allowed to get into the eyes.
Lather Up & Rest – Lather up well in the areas where they are itching the most and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Rinse – Rinse all of the shampoo out and RE-Rinse. It is important to get all of the shampoo residue off of the skin. Clean & rinsed skin will help to relieve the itch.
Conditioner – Apply Conditioner and rub well down to the skin. Let sit for 5 minutes and rinse and re-rinse.
For stubborn itchy spots, 2 times a day, apply and rub in no-itch clear lotion to the spot (Benadryl clear or generic brand will work!)
Purpose of Ingredients:
Baby Shampoo – Gently cleans the hair and skin without irritation.
Eucalyptus Oil – Natural Flea & Fly Deterrent
Conditioner – to soften the hair or wool and moisturize the skin.
