CLUB LEADERSHIP - HOW TO CREATE AN ORGANIZED SHOW BOARD
This is by far one of the best organizational ideas that I’ve seen in years! The “Best New Team Idea” goes to Old Town 4-H for presenting and demonstrating a great organizational tool!
This club had 30 pigs on their Swine Team. The advisor had the daunting task of keeping 30 plus kids and their parents and friends informed on their classes and the status of their placings! To meet that challenge, she used:
SHOPPING LIST
- 1 Large White Board
- 1 roll of Black Tape
- 1 set of Dry Erase Markers
- 1 Label Maker
With this she created a board to keep track of the kids and their classes! Starting with weigh in day through auction they recorded the classes as they happened. I can only imagine how many repetitive questions were avoided by using this board. The kids had fun updating the board with their class placing and the parents found it easy to remember who shows when! It was a great opportunity to see some success and be able to congratulate the showman for a job well done! It’s a great team building opportunity! The breeder column is another great way to say thank you to your breeder for their hard work with their breeding program and give them some free advertisement!
